Examples of Our Investments

Kaiser Permanente provided Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture and Education Project $34,939 for their Eat Your Veggies project. More than 4,600 low-income people learned how to eat healthy with nutrition information, food tasting events, recipes, and cooking demonstrations in their own neighborhoods, community centers and schools. People also received food and incentives for buying local produce.

Roberts Family Development Center received $20,000 to for their Teen Scene program which decreases neighborhood violence by providing youth a home-away-from-home during weekend evenings. The program provides a safe, positive environment where youth can socialize and learn about the consequences of delinquent behavior while gaining conflict resolution/management skills. Youth also participate in educational life-skill workshops, field trips, and recreational activities.
