Examples of the Difference We Make

Abode Services received a $30,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente to improve access to behavioral and mental health care for homeless individuals, while helping them get preventive primary care, manage medications, and avoid crises. A total of 13 Health and Wellness Team members were trained and served 108 currently or formerly homeless people living with significant mental health issues and other complex needs. Ninety-three percent those served had fewer incidence of institutionalization.

 

In addition, Alameda County Family Justice Center received $90,000 to implement STEP-UP, a program to empower family violence survivors by offering computer and financial literacy training, professional development classes, empowerment workshops, and English as a Second Language tutoring.
